American Express is proud to support fifteen standout Sydney and Melbourne restaurants, including Paddington’s Porcine, each receiving a $23,000 AUD grant through the Amex Backing International Small Restaurants program. Delivered in partnership with the International Downtown Association (IDA) Foundation, and supported by Mainstreet Australia, this global initiative champions independent eateries that are making a meaningful impact in their communities.

Porcine, co-founded by chef and owner Nik Hill, has become known for its French cuisine with a relaxed, neighbourhood feel.  Nik and the team are using the grant to improve the restaurant’s weather affected courtyard, refurbish aging facilitates and continue offering a welcoming community-focused dining experience. They say the project will strengthen the long-term sustainability of Porcine and allow them to continue sharing their passion for craft and culture.

By backing these restaurants, Amex is reinforcing its commitment to small business owners and the communities they support.
